Our Story
The Woodlands RV Resort is nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks in the picturesque resort town of Heber Springs and is home to Greers Ferry Lake and the Little Red River. Greers Ferry Lake is considered one of the cleanest lakes in the country and the Little Red River is a premier trout fishery and home to a world record 40lb 4oz brown trout. The Little Red, as locals call it, holds large numbers of Rainbow, Brown, and Cutthroat trout and attracts anglers from across the country eager to catch trophy size trout.
Not to be outdone, Greers Ferry Lake is also home to a World Record Walleye and also a World Record Hybrid Bass. Fishermen enjoy catching a variety of fish including Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, Kentucky Bass, White Bass, Hybrid Bass, Crappie, Walleye, Catfish and Bluegill. Many fishing guides are available for fishing on the lake and river.
The guests at The Woodlands RV Resort are within five minutes of two of the areas largest marinas, an 18 hole golf course, and fine dining at the Red Apple Inn. Our Yearly guests are also welcome to utilize the resort’s membership to the Heber Springs Community Center for the indoor pool, pickle ball, basketball courts and exercise facility. Other outdoor activities include numerous hiking and biking trails, kayaking, sightseeing, exploring nearby caverns and farmers markets.
Phase One includes 15 Pull Through sites and a total of 72 sites. Some of the amenities include fire rings, picnic tables, 20/30/50 AMP electric, water, sewer, WIFI, and a walking trail throughout the 45 acre resort. The resort is easily accessible to the Heber Springs walking/biking trail that is nine miles in length. One arm of the trail takes you directly to Sandy Beach, which is the largest beach in Arkansas. The beach is also home to the Annual Cardboard Boat Races and Fireworks display. The resort also has added a swimming pool, pavilion, dog park, playground, area, laundry, and shower facilities. Our camp hosts will be available to guide you to your site and to provide information on things to do in the area.
Heber Springs is located in north central Arkansas and if your pleasure is motorcycling or atv riding, you couldn’t find a better location. Some of the best roads await you but watch out for these curves. Within a two hours drive, there are two popular atv areas with hundreds of miles of trails which are Brock Creek and Moccasin Gap.
Heber Springs has a population of 7100 people and is the county seat for Cleburne County. For a town of our size, you would be hard pressed to find another town anywhere in the country with all of the amenities that we possess. From the new Baptist Health Hospital, many doctors and specialists, our new two year university, to boating on beautiful Greers Ferry Lake, golfing at the Red Apple Country Club, or flyfishing for trophy trout, you will find many things to enjoy.
